× The Teachers’ Lounge is a coming of age stage play about a millennial teacher who is fed up with high stakes testing and a new ordinance signed by the governor that base teachers’ salaries on student state exam outcomes. Mr. Tarver is a hip and witty teacher who is inspired by one of his students to moonlight as a comic to lobby against school district politics. Mr. Tarver’s comedic journey to promote educational advocacy is soon confronted by bureaucracy, controversy, and tragedy; that leaves the young teacher struggling to reconcile his love for teaching with his ability to create laughter...
